What is the Publications Feature?

The Publications feature allows you to:

  • Import publications from multiple academic databases
  • Track citations and research metrics
  • Showcase your research output
  • Enhance your AI profile for better matching
  • Share your work with collaborators

How Publications Work

Automatic Import

Link your External Profiles to automatically import publications from:

  • Google Scholar - Comprehensive academic coverage
  • ORCID - Verified publication records
  • ResearchGate - Academic networking platform
  • PubMed - Medical and life sciences database

Manual Entry

Add publications not found in external databases:

  • Enter DOI for automatic metadata retrieval
  • Manual form entry for unlisted works
  • Import from BibTeX files

Continuous Sync

  • Publications sync daily from linked profiles
  • Citation counts update automatically
  • New publications detected and added
  • Metrics refreshed regularly

Publication Data

What's Stored

For each publication, ResearchConnectX stores:

  • Title - Full publication title
  • Authors - All contributing authors
  • Journal/Venue - Where it was published
  • Publication Date - Year, month, day
  • DOI - Digital Object Identifier
  • Citations - Number of times cited
  • Abstract - Publication summary
  • Keywords - Research topics
  • Type - Journal article, conference paper, book chapter, etc.

Academic Metrics

Track your research impact:

  • h-index - Measure of productivity and citation impact
  • i10-index - Publications with at least 10 citations
  • Total Citations - All-time citation count
  • Recent Citations - Citations in the last 5 years

Accessing Your Publications

Publications Page

  1. Click Publications in the main navigation
  2. View your complete publication list
  3. Sort by date, citations, or title
  4. Filter by publication type or year

Publication Display

Each entry shows:

  • Publication title
  • Author list (your name highlighted)
  • Journal/Conference name
  • Year published
  • Citation count
  • Links to full text (if available)

Publication Sources

Priority Order

When the same publication appears in multiple sources:

  1. ORCID (most authoritative)
  2. PubMed (for medical research)
  3. Google Scholar (for citations)
  4. ResearchGate (supplementary)

Duplicate Detection

ResearchConnectX automatically:

  • Detects duplicate entries
  • Merges based on DOI or title matching
  • Combines citation counts from all sources
  • Preserves links to each platform
