Kanban Board

Manage project tasks visually with ResearchConnectX's integrated Kanban board system.

What is a Kanban Board?

A visual task management tool with columns representing workflow stages:

  • To Do - Tasks not yet started
  • In Progress - Currently being worked on
  • Review - Completed, awaiting review
  • Done - Finished and approved

Accessing the Kanban Board

  1. Go to your project
  2. Click Board tab
  3. View all task cards across columns

Creating Task Cards

Add a New Task

  1. Click + Add Card in any column
  2. Enter task details:
    • Title - Short task description
    • Description - Detailed information
    • Assignee(s) - Who will do it
    • Due Date - Deadline
    • Priority - Low, Medium, High, Urgent
    • Labels - Categorize (optional)
  3. Click Create

Managing Tasks

Move Cards

  • Drag and drop between columns
  • Updates task status automatically
  • Team sees changes in real-time

Edit Cards

  1. Click on a card
  2. Modify details
  3. Add comments
  4. Update status
  5. Save changes

Assign Tasks

  • Assign to one or multiple team members
  • Reassign as needed
  • Unassigned tasks visible to all

Set Priorities

  • Urgent - Red flag
  • High - Orange flag
  • Medium - Yellow flag
  • Low - Blue flag

Collaboration Features

Comments

  • Add comments to cards
  • @mention team members
  • Reply to comments
  • Track discussion history

Attachments

  • Upload files to cards
  • Link to cloud storage
  • Share relevant documents
  • Version tracking

Activity Log

  • See all card changes
  • Track who did what
  • View timestamps
  • Monitor progress
